Time 'n zombie killer
The game has it's qualities and some flaws, but it eats your time away ^^
The space/futuristic theme worked quite well. The item-system, at first, looked confusing, but once you got used to it, it worked. Some more "clear" icons/logos/pictures would have been good ^^
The ability to specialize your weapon(s) was really good. Although, the way you'd optain upgrades could have been a bit better. Possibly, you could change it so you'd "unlock" upgrades and weapons by finding them in the levels, while a few (already implemented) was only optainable by scavenging.
Having energy-based weapons, which would recharge by themselves when empty, is great :D A "manual reload" might have been good, though. I'd often run into a room, well knowing i have only one shot before the auto-reload, and all the energy packs have been used ^^
There was a lack of visual content. The rooms and zombies, in themselves, looked fine, but a bit more variation and some obstacles would have been in place. As others have said, the "only" strategy available is running in cirkles around the zombies, firing into the crowd, adding to the repertetiveness (same rooms all the times between sectors, only 4 zombie models, colours uncounted, same music constantly).
[Bug] Sometimes, when you just enter a room, some zombies turn the opposite way. It's hardly noticable in the early levels, but it's clear to see when you stand up against those who shoot back, where they shoot the opposite way. At times, they even run backwards for a short.
Maybe, a story behind the infestation would have been in place, and the ability to continue to play after sector 5, level 6, just to work up a score and rank achievements might have been fun :)
All in all, a fairly good game. 4/5 8/10 from me.
